Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 23, 2026
This policy explains how Discover Yosemite Inc. ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you book a tour or pay for a booking through our online reservation site at reservationcafe.com (the "Site").
Information we collect
Information you give us when you make, change or pay for a booking:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, and mailing/billing address.
- Booking details: the tour, date and pickup location you choose, the number and age group of guests, hotel and room for pickup, promotion codes, and how you heard about us.
- Guest information you choose to provide for the tour, such as guest names, meal choices, notes, dietary or accessibility needs, and whether you allow us to use photos of your group.
- Payment information: card number, expiration date, security code and billing name/address. This is sent to our payment processor to complete the charge. We do not store your full card number or security code.
- Availability alerts: if you ask to be emailed when a fully booked tour opens up, we keep the email address you enter for that purpose.
Information collected automatically: our web server records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. The Site uses one session cookie that is needed to keep your booking together while you move between pages. It is deleted when you close your browser.
The booking pages do not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking services, and we do not track you across other websites.
How we use your information
- To make, confirm, change and cancel your booking, and to take payment for it.
- To contact you about your tour, for example confirmations, pickup details, schedule or weather changes.
- To provide the tour, including meals and any accessibility or dietary needs you tell us about.
- To email you about availability if you asked us to.
- To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud, and fix problems.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and the reporting requirements of our operating permits.
How we share your information
We share personal information only as needed to run your booking and our business:
- Service providers that work on our behalf, such as our payment processor, our email delivery service and our website host. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Booking partners: if you booked through a travel agent or an online booking partner, we exchange booking information with them so your reservation can be completed. Their own privacy policies apply to the information you give them.
- Government and legal: when required by law, by legal process, or by the terms of our operating permits (for example, visitor-use reporting to the land management agencies whose land our tours use), or to protect the safety of our guests and staff.
- Business transfer: if our business is sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
How long we keep information
We keep booking records for as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet legal, tax, accounting and permit-reporting requirements. Availability-alert email addresses are kept only for that purpose.
How we protect information
The Site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Card payments are processed by our payment processor, and access to booking records is limited to our staff. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us below. We may need to keep some records to meet legal or tax requirements.
- You can ask us at any time to stop sending availability emails.
California residents
You may review and request changes to the personal information you have given us by contacting us below. Because we do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes, we have no such disclosures to report under California Civil Code section 1798.83 ("Shine the Light").
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our booking pages do not track you over time or across other websites, and do not allow other companies to do so, so we do not treat these signals differently.
Children
The Site is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. When a parent or guardian books a tour for a family, they may give us a child's name, age group or needs for that booking only.
Links to other websites
The Site may link to other websites, such as our company website. This policy does not cover them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it took effect at the top.
